Description
Join us for a 2-night course to learn all about using your new (or old!) telescope and finding your way around the night sky. Held on two consecutive Tuesdays.
Night 1 on January 19 deals with equipment: how your telescope works, how to set it up, how NOT to set it up, answers to "why it won't focus!" and what accessories and eyepieces to buy.
Night 2 on January 26 deals mostly with finding your way around the sky and locating good targets for your telescope viewing delight! We use the Digistar projector to simulate the night sky indoors in the Dome. So no need to get cold!
Taught by science centre astronomer Alan Dyer, co-author of The Backyard Astronomer's Guide.
Where
Discovery Dome, TELUS World of Science
Special Notes
No need to bring your telescope!
Please call (403) 268-8302 during office hours to pre-register for this course.
